CAFE & KITCHEN
The Commons Community Cafe & Kitchen serves ethically sourced coffee, locally-made cakes, sweet treats and nourishing meals. It provides affordable food, cooked by local people using local produce. They support local growers & land workers, contributing to the local food economy & paying local people a real living wage.

The Commons is run by Common Ground Colchester, a community cooperative designed to meet the needs of the community. It is democratically managed with an open & accessible membership policy.
The Minories has on-site catering and there are no facilities for bringing your own food or drink. Drinks and food (apart from a small bottled water) are not allowed in the galleries, to protect the exhibits.
Please be prepared to be patient during busy times in The Commons Community Café & Kitchen.
The Minories is situated at the end of Colchester’s busy high street and shopping centre where plenty of the chains and independent cafes/restaurants can be found within 5 minutes.
Entry to The Minories is free so you can come and go as often as you like during your visits

SEASONAL SPECIALS
The Commons Café uses locally grown organic produce at the heart of their food offering. The freshly harvested seasonal produce provides the inspiration for daily changing, seasonal special lunches including soups, salads, vegetable curries & dahls. Lunch is served from 12-3 pm.
The 'Baked Goods' counter is stocked with vegan sos rolls, fruit scones, cheese & chive scones, curry puffs, caramelised onion tarts & / or pasties. Baked goods are served all day & can be served alongside seasonal salad.

In-house baker Good Souls Bakery provides an ever-changing range of cakes, suitable for vegetarians & vegans with at least one gluten-free option available.
COFFEE & DRINKS
The Common's coffee comes from CoalTown Coffee Roasters, a B-Corp based in South Wales. If caffeine's not your bag choose from our delicious turmeric latte, hot chocolate, teas or seasonal juices.
